Can You See Me?

Curated by Elena Hadlow

An exploration into the relationship between individuals and digital technology, Can You See Me? is the question asked when we engage with the internet and digital technology. Compiling work from Aotearoa artists across different mediums, it aims to consider the different ways technology can connect and isolate users, while also reflecting on the notion of seeing/being seen in the digital age.

Spanning from the late 90s to mid 2020s, the works selected for Can You See Me?perform the ever-present nature of the internet and digital technology, both in celebration and critique of the endless possibilities of connection, watching, and isolation provided by the digital age.
